Fundraising for Belarusian women
As a sign of solidarity with Belarusian women, we are announcing an annual charity fundraiser to help affected women.
March 8 is the day of solidarity of women in struggle for their rights. It is also an opportunity to remember those who are having a particularly hard time today. Many Belarusian women are facing difficulties today: some are in prison, others are free but still need support. They have to start their lives anew, deal with the consequences of their experiences and take care of their health.
As a sign of solidarity with Belarusians, we announce an annual charity fundraiser to help these women.
The money raised will be used to provide the most needed items:
- Hygiene products (soap, shower gel, shampoos, hair conditioners, face and body creams);
- Medicine;
- Basic necessities (towels, razors, toiletries);
- Other necessities.
They're not just things. These are things that give women dignity, that make their lives better, that support them. It is something that will give them hope and faith in human beings. It is a sign of our care and concern.
How can you help?
- You can donate in any way you like. Even the smallest or most symbolic contribution to this collection is part of a great help that will be directed to where it is most needed. This is what makes us all part of true Belarusian solidarity. It is hope for those who cannot manage without us and who need care;
- Spread the word about the collection on social media if it is safe for you to do so. Every repost is a sign of caring and participation in a very important cause. If at least one person responds to your message, it will be the very brick that is part of a big and strong house.
And about the main thing.
Belarusians have a tradition of talaka. Only by uniting (remember how our ancestors built houses for each other in whole villages!) we can support Belarusian women and make their lives better. Only with your help they will find hope, support and attention.
The campaign is organized by the project "Humanitarian ambulance service", which includes BYSOL Foundation, By_Help public campaign, "A Country to Live in" Charitble Foundation and Dissidentby initiative.
Target amount: €8 000
The plan is to provide about €150 for each woman.
If more is raised, our support will be even greater and more women will receive it.
Each of us knows that the hardest thing is to be left in need without support. Kindness is not just a word, it is an action. And it always comes back.
